Minnesota Might Get Hit By Thanksgiving Day Snow Storm
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Shoppers headed out to bag Black Friday deals this week may have to trek through a couple inches of fresh snow.
WCCO meteorologist Matt Brickman says a snow storm could hit Minnesota on Thanksgiving Day. The metro could see a few inches of snow by Friday morning, and northwestern Minnesota may get up to a half-foot.
Brickman says the storm will likely start as rain on Wednesday. But as temperatures drop, sleet and snow will fall, making for a messy Thanksgiving morning.
Snow should continue over Thursday night.
"It could be enough to give us our first shovel-able snow here in the Twin Cities," Brickman said.
So far, November has been mild, with the first 20 days of the month being above average.
Warm temperatures will kick off the workweek.
Monday's highs look to be near 40, with partly cloudy skies.
