Minnesota Man Charged With Shooting Truck Driver

EDEN PRARIE, Minn. (AP) -- Hennepin County authorities have charged a man who they say shot a truck driver in the head.

Kelly Anderson of Albertville was charged Wednesday with attempted first-degree murder and ordered held on $1 million bond. Authorities say the 28-year-old ordered the driver to give up his semitrailer before shooting the man in the face Saturday in Eden Prairie.

The 58-year-old victim from River Falls, Wisconsin, was in critical condition Wednesday with a bullet lodged in his brain.

Authorities say Anderson admitted to police he crashed his vehicle after a night of drinking and walked to the parking lot of Jerry's Foods, where he found the truck driver. They say Anderson admitted to shooting the man and told them where he discarded the gun.

Online jail records didn't indicate an attorney.
