Lynx To Play 2017 Home Games At Xcel Energy Center

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- The Minnesota Lynx are on the move, temporarily.

The Lynx have announced that they will play their home games next summer in St. Paul's Xcel Energy Center. The move is necessary so their current home — Target Center in Minneapolis — can be fully renovated in time for the NBA's Timberwolves to open their 2017-18 season.

The Xcel Energy Center is home to the NHL's Minnesota Wild.

Renovations on Target Center have already begun. The building will be completely shut down for the summer and fall in 2017 to allow for the most significant changes to the building to take place.

The Lynx have won three WNBA championships in the last five years and are shooting for their second in a row this season.
