Minnesota House Committee Votes To Up Tobacco-Buying Age To 21

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Minnesota House Committee voted to raise the state's legal age to buy tobacco from 18 to 21.

Six states have already raised the legal age to 21.

Supporters say it will reduce teen smoking by 25 percent.

Lawmakers Tuesday also advanced a bill that would ban e-cigarettes indoors, or wherever tobacco smoking is prohibited.
