Minnesota Hiring Executive To Seek Out Executives

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) —Minnesota is in search of a new government executive to recruit other executives.

The Department of Minnesota Management and Budget is advertising for a "statewide executive recruiter" to seek out candidates with diverse backgrounds for senior leadership roles in state government. The position is referenced in an executive order issued Tuesday by Gov. Mark Dayton on improving diversity in the upper ranks of government.

The new recruiter position comes with a salary ranging from $87,000 to $126,000 plus benefits. The application window closes at month's end.

According to a fiscal year 2014 state report, about 9 percent of executive branch employees were racial or ethnic minorities, a percentage that has been gradually ticking up.
