Minnesota Guardsman Pleads Guilty To Making Child Porn

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A Minnesota National Guardsman has pleaded guilty to getting a 14-year-old girl to send him sexually explicit photos while he was deployed in Afghanistan.

Twenty-eight-year-old 1st Lt. Andrew Schiller of Lakeville pleaded guilty in federal court to one count of producing child pornography. Sentencing has not been scheduled.

According to the guilty plea, between September 2013 and January 2014 Schiller contacted the girl from Minnesota online and asked her to send him sexually explicit photos of herself. She complied, sending him several images, including at least one that was sexually explicit.

Schiller also admitted trying to get other minors to do the same.

In a statement, the Minnesota National Guard said Schiller is a Guard member but is "pending adverse administrative action that will result in separation from the military."
