Minnesota Governor Headed To Mexico In August On Trade Trip

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton has Mexico in his sights.

The Democratic governor's office said Tuesday that he will lead an August trade mission south of the U.S. border. Specific details about duration and precise destinations weren't immediately released.

It will be Dayton's first foreign trip since a 10-day European swing in 2013 that took him to Sweden, Norway and Germany. He stuck around Minnesota in 2014 when he was campaigning for a second term.

Dayton previously traveled to China, Japan and South Korea with state business delegations intent on promoting Minnesota goods for export.
