Minnesota Authorities Charge 2 Men In Body Burning

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Hennepin County authorities have charged two men in the shooting death of a Brooklyn Center man whose burning body set a dumpster on fire.

The county attorney's office said Wednesday that 24-year-old Manuel Guzman of Minneapolis and 22-year-old Guillermo Ayala-Enriquez of Brooklyn Center were charged with second-degree murder in the death of 31-year-old Rufino Clara-Rendon.

Authorities say the men shot Clara-Rendon in the head Aug. 7 before rolling him in a carpet and putting him in a mattress they cut open. Authorities say they bought gasoline from a gas station, doused the body with it and lit it on fire.

Guzman was already being detained on unrelated charges. Ayala-Enriquez was arrested Tuesday by authorities including the Minneapolis SWAT team. They're each being held on $1 million bond.

Online jail records didn't indicate attorneys.
