Minneapolis Unveils Portal To Show Info, Complaints On Officers

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The city of Minneapolis is making information on their police officers more accessible than ever before.

Mayor Betsy Hodges revealed a new data portal for the Office of Police Conduct and Review. The office reviews every complaint made against a police officer within the city.

Mayor Hodges says the data will be updated every two weeks. You can also find individual information showing complaints made against officers.

"Indeed we are going to have a police department. What we get to have is a 21st century police department that is rooted in 21st century policing," Hodges said. "Built on a foundation of trust and building a foundation of police-community relationships."

Hodges says these new tools will provide the public with more information than ever before and the city is leading the nation in such transparency.
