Minneapolis Tattoo Convention Returns For 6th Year

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Almost half of all Americans between the ages of 26 and 40 have a tattoo.

And, in total, 45 million Americans have them.

This weekend, Minneapolis is celebrating the art of tattoos by hosting the 6th Annual Tattoo Arts Convention at the Hyatt Regency downtown.

It's your chance to meet, and be tattooed by, some visionary artists, like Shanghai Kate.

"You tell me what you have in mind, but sometimes I see something different. I can guide you to a better placement, to a better design, to a better fulfillment of the dream that you have to put a memory on your body that will last a lifetime," Shanghai Kate said.

The Minneapolis Tattoo Arts Convention is at the Hyatt Regency through Sunday. It runs from 11 a.m. to midnight Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Tickets are $20.
