Minneapolis Community Holds Rally For Suspended Inspector

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Late Thursday afternoon, there was a rally at the Fourth Police Precinct in Minneapolis.

Members of the community there wanted to show support for an inspector who was recently suspended. Inspector Mike Friestleben has been placed on leave. Chief Janee Harteau has said it's because of a personnel matter.

"He cares about his officers, his precinct and our community. That's a hard thing to juggle," Alisa Clemons, a former police officer, said.

The community is asking for Friestleben to return to his job heading up the Fourth Precinct. They say Wednesday night's shooting, where one person died and several others were injured, is evidence that the neighborhood needs his leadership there.
