Minneapolis Police Seek Info In Deadly Hit & Run

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minneapolis Police Department is asking for the public's help after a woman died a day after being involved in a hit-and-run crash on Sunday.

Authorities were called at about 5 p.m. Sunday after a woman walking across Nicollet Avenue South at the intersection of 43rd Street was hit by a vehicle. The woman was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where she died Monday.

Police say the driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the crash, heading northbound on Nicollet Avenue South. Authorities are asking for the public's help to identify either the suspect or the vehicle involved in the incident. Police say information is limited, and the vehicle has only been described as a dark sedan.

Anyone with information about either the suspect or the vehicle is asked to call Minneapolis police at (612) 692-8477.

The incident remains under investigation. The name of the woman and her cause of death will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
