Minneapolis Police Say Ventura Village Shooting Leaves 1 Dead

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis police say a person is dead after being shot Thursday night in the Ventura Village neighborhood.

Officers were called to the 2200 block of 13th Avenue South at about 9 p.m. on a report of shots fire, and learned when they arrived that a victim in their mid-20s had been driven to Hennepin Healthcare -- where they later died.

Witnesses told investigators a man approached a car on foot with the victim inside, and shot him several times.

No one is in custody as of late Thursday night. This is the city's 11th homicide of 2020.
