Minneapolis Police: Teen Dies After Near North Shooting

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A man in his late teens has died after being shot Sunday afternoon in Minneapolis's Near North neighborhood -- making him the city's 66th homicide victim of the year.

Minneapolis Police Department spokesperson John Elder said officers were called to the intersection of North Logan and Plymouth Avenues just before 3 p.m., where they found the injured young man.

He was brought to Hennepin Health hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The victim was later identified by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's office as 19-year-old Wanya Ladarin Corey. Police are still searching for the shooter.
