Police: Man Apparently Beaten To Death In Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis police say they have arrested one person after a man was found apparently beaten to death early Tuesday morning in an apartment near downtown.

Officials said the crime happened during a party Monday night at Dundry House apartments on the corner of South 5th Avenue and East 19th Street.

The apartment owner, who wasn't home at the time of the man's death, found the victim and called 911 around 6 a.m.

The victim's name and cause of death have yet to be released.

Mary Strong, a neighbor, called the incident shocking.

"I wouldn't expect someone to be hurt, abused here, because it's a lot more safer than what it used to be," she said.

Police said the suspect did not live at the apartment.

The case remains under investigation.
