Minneapolis Police Investigate Shooting South Of Downtown

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis police say a man has been "gravely wounded" in a shooting south of downtown early Tuesday afternoon.

Police say the incident occurred near 24th Street and Bloomington Avenue in a parking lot at a gas station.

Officers responded to the location on the report of a fight. While on the way officers learned a shooting had occurred.

Minneapolis police spokesman John Elder says two groups of people in vehicles were fighting. At some point, an adult male was shot and gravely wounded. Both vehicles then fled the parking lot.

The victim was taken to Hennepin Healthcare via ambulance.

Police are investigating.
