Police: Suspect Sought In Minneapolis Catalytic Converter Theft

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police are looking for at least one suspect after a catalytic converter was stolen from a truck last Thursday morning in south Minneapolis.

The Minneapolis Police Department says the incident happened between 4:50 a.m. and 5 a.m. on the 5100 block of Bloomington Avenue South. Surveillance cameras show the occupants of a truck get out and remove a converter from another parked truck. Authorities believe the converter is worth more than $4,000.

The suspect vehicle is described as a white Dodge 3500 duel-wheel truck. It has a brush guard on the front and rain guards around the windows. The truck does not have a tailgate. Authorities say at the time of the incident, the truck was equipped with a large square liquid tank mounted on the bed.
