Minneapolis North Undefeated As Post Season Play Begins

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - They just wanted to have some fun playing football, but what they've done is change a culture.

That's what has happened at Minneapolis North High School: 8-and-0 and riding high into the post season.

They are playing to win football games and to bring a sense of esteem to their school.

They have changed the way the once struggling program and school is perceived. All of a sudden, it's cool to want to be part of this program.

"Everybody wants to play football now," one student said.

With a coaching staff that played here, they understand that to turn the program into a winner, they can't just win games but must be committed to the cause.

"Dedication, great athletes, hard work--kids wanting to do something isn't typical in Minneapolis," their coach said.

They hope this dream season ends in the cold, that they become part of the elite that make it to TCF Bank Stadium for the Prep Bowl.
