St. Thomas student killed in hit-and-run in Minneapolis; no arrests made
Minneapolis police are searching for the driver responsible for a hit-and-run crash that killed a young woman early Sunday.
According to the Minneapolis Police Department, a woman in her 20s had been crossing Marshall Street Northeast near 16th Avenue Northeast just after 3 a.m. when she was struck by a vehicle at a high rate of speed.
Police say the woman was taken to the hospital where she died on Monday.
According to the University of St. Thomas, the woman Seham Hassen, was a 22-year-old senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in public health. She was set to graduate in May.
Her family described her as "someone who wanted to heal, to serve, and to make a difference for people."
The suspect vehicle is described as a dark-colored sedan, possibly driven by a man.
