Minneapolis Diabetes Expo Teaches Health Eating

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - Diabetes is a disease that affects millions of people.

And this weekend, at the American Diabetes Expo, you can meet with some experts and learn how to live a healthy, full life.

Dr. Farha Khan, an endocrinologist from Allina Health, stopped by the WCCO studio Friday.

"The numbers by the CDC are staggering," Khan said. "Whether you have Type 1 or Type 2, it's all about commitment. In many diseases, almost every disease, education does change outcome."

The expo will feature chefs teaching how to cook healthy meals.

You can learn more about managing diabetes Saturday at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

The expo runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and it's free.
