Minneapolis Deli Sells Artful Easter Eggs For Ukrainian Refugees

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A lot of people are painting Easter eggs this time of year, but a local business was selling some beautiful, handmade eggs for a good cause.

Kramarczuk's Restaurant, Deli and Sausage Company was selling traditional, handmade Ukrainian Easter eggs in northeast Minneapolis Saturday afternoon.

Money from the sale will be used to benefit refugees in Ukraine.

"The eggs started as a Pagan ritual, and when Christianity was adopted in 988, they became a Christian symbol," Lucia Kramarczuk explained. "So it's supposed to represent life and spring, and it's a good talisman. When you get it as a gift it's supposed to represent love and prosperity."

Orthodox Easter is next Sunday, so the eggs will be for sale next Friday and Saturday, too. They range in price from $12 to $55.
