Minneapolis City Council Approves Paid Parental Leave
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis city workers trying to juggle work and kids will be able to get some extra paid time off.
The city council unanimously approved 120 hours of paid parental leave Friday for the birth or adoption of a child. The new policy begins in July.
St. Paul's paid parental leave policy started at the beginning of the year. It was one of the first plans in the nation.
The policy is expected to reduce the costs of rehiring and retraining replacement workers.
