Minn. Safe So Far From Respiratory Virus Spreading Across Midwest

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - Minnesota health officials are watching for a once rare respiratory virus that's spreading across the Midwest.

Hundreds of children have showed up at emergency rooms and intensive care units with a severe cough and struggling to breathe.

The CDC doesn't know why this summer's cases of Enterovirus 68 are so severe.

Adults do not seem to be susceptible.

The Minnesota Department of Health says there's no evidence of the virus in Minnesota right now.

Health officials say to avoid getting sick, wash hands, cover coughs, and stay home if you do get sick.
