Minn. Resumes Accepting Turbo Tax Returns

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minnesotans will once again be able to file electronic tax returns with Turbo Tax as of 3 p.m. Saturday, according to the Minnesota Department of Revenue.

The parent company of Turbo Tax, Intuit, had temporarily suspended e-filing in all states after concern of fraud arose when two Minnesota users reported that someone had already filed under their name.

On Friday afternoon, Intuit Inc. announced that Turbo Tax had resumed e-filing of state income tax returns.

However, the scare prompted the Minnesota Department of Revenue to block Turbo Tax filings while they continued to investigate.

The Department of Revenue said Saturday they will once again accept returns as of 3 p.m.

For those who have already filed a return using Turbo Tax, no action is necessary. The Department of Revenue said they will review all returns and contact individuals if they come across any problems.

The Department of Revenue says despite the issue with Turbo Tax, electronically file is still the best way to file taxes.
