Minn. Man Gets 25 Years For Making, Possessing Child Porn

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A White Earth man was sentenced on Tuesday to 25 years in prison for making and possessing child pornography.

The United States Attorney's Office said that 39-year-old Corey Victor Bevins pleaded guilty in June to production, receipt and possession of child pornography. He had been indicted in April of 2014.

Authorities say that Bevins downloaded child porn to groom a 9-year-old child, whom he later abused and exploited in the summer of 2012.

In November of that year, Bevins said that he started receiving child porn via a peer-to-peer program. In total, he ended up possessing 60 images and 269 videos of child porn, authorities said.

As part of a plea agreement, Bevins was sentenced to 25 years in prison and 15 years of supervised release.
