Minn. Man Fatally Struck At S. Indiana Truck Stop

MEMPHIS, Ind. (AP) — Authorities have identified a Minnesota man as the person struck and killed by a vehicle in the dark parking lot of a southern Indiana truck stop.

The Clark County Coroner's Office said Friday that 58-year-old Billy Ray Evans of Hill City, Minn., died at the scene when he was hit by a large truck.

Evans was found on the ground Thursday night at a truck stop just off Interstate 65 near the town of Memphis, about 15 miles north of Louisville, Ky.

Clark County sheriff's chief deputy Brian Meyer says investigators didn't know which vehicle hit the man but they didn't believe it was intentional.

Workers at the truck stop told WLKY-TV the Evans was walking his dog at the time.
