Minn. Law Students Introduce New Dental Health Bill

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Some Twin Cities law students introduced a new bill Friday that would help fill a dentist shortage in parts of the state.

Concordia University students say many people living in rural Minnesota are forced to drive hours to see a dentist because no one in their area treats Medicaid patients with special needs.

Their bill, The Smile Healthy Minnesota Act, would help nonprofits gain funding for mobile units to travel to undeserved communities.

The students are working with Representative Nick Zerwas and Senator Julie Rosen on this bill.
