Minn. Hunter, 54, Shot While Bird Hunting

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 54-year-old Norwood Young America man is in the hospital after a hunting accident Sunday, according to the Stearns County Sheriff's Office.

On Oct. 5 at around 11:35 a.m., the sheriff's office received a report of a gunshot injury from the Carver County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities say the injured hunter, identified as Steven Grimm, was hunting at the Golden Meadows Hunting Preserve when he was shot. He was with a hunting party with seven other people walking in a line when a bird was flushed up. Several hunters fired at the bird and Grim was struck by pellets in the upper torso and head.

Grim was then taken to the Ridgeview Hospital in Waconia.

The incident is being investigated.
