Minn. Drivers More Likely To Hit A Deer This Year, New Data Finds

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Drivers in Minnesota need to be extra careful about colliding with deer this fall.

According to State Farm, Minnesota drivers are nearly nine percent more likely to collide with a deer this year than they were last year.

The odds drivers will hit a deer in Minnesota are one in 81, compared to the national odds of one in 169.

Minnesota is now ranked seventh in the country for the most deer collisions. We were ranked eighth last year.

Drivers are most likely to collide with a deer in Minnesota in November, then October and then June, mostly due to mating and hunting seasons.
