Milwaukee County Expanding Traveling Beer Garden

MILWAUKEE (AP) — A traveling beer garden is expanding for its second annual tour across Milwaukee County.

Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele announced Tuesday that a second truck will be added to the Traveling Beer Garden Tour this summer. The additional Sprecher Brewing Company truck will allow two parks to host the event each week.

The eight-week tour is scheduled to stop at 16 parks from late May to early September. The locations were picked based on parking, accessibility, activities, feedback and other factors.

The Traveling Beer Garden Tour raised nearly $250,000 for Milwaukee County Parks last year. About 35,000 beers, nearly 6,000 sodas and roughly 2,300 root beer floats were sold.

Sprecher Brewing plans to donate $32,000 to the department in addition to the revenue earned by the beer gardens this year.
