Mille Lacs Band Of Ojibwe DNR To Host Eagle Release

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Department of Natural Resources will release an eagle back into the wild Friday morning.

According to the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe DNR, employees of the DNR found the eagle a few weeks ago on the side of Shakopee Lake Road.

The young eagle was found to be too weak to fly.

The Mille Lacs Band staff then took the eagle to the Garrison Animal Hospital, where it made a full recovery.

The young eagle is now ready to be released.

According to the Mille Lacs Band staff, they will release the eagle at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Garrison Kathio State Park.
