Mike's Mix: A Chocolate Cocktail At Kincaid's

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - All this month Mike Augustyniak has been mixing at some classic, old-school bars--places that feel like home for the holidays. This week, Mike headed to Kincaid's in Bloomington.

Two Turtle Doves

Start by garnishing the inside of an iced martini glass with chocolate syrup.

Then, in a separate mixing glass over ice, combine:

  • 5 oz vodka
  • ½ oz Malibu rum
  • ¼ oz Godiva chocolate liqueur
  • ¼ oz white crème de cacao
  • 1 oz of half-and-half

Shake, and strain into the garnished martini glass.

Taste Test

Bartender Liz Heikkila says Kincaid's features sweet, approachable cocktails with ingredients that you've heard of before.  She also says this week's featured cocktail tastes like chocolate milk.

I'd say she's right on both counts.

For a richer twist on Two Turtle Doves, Liz suggests leaving out the half-and-half and pouring the liquor over a scoop of vanilla ice cream in the bottom of the glass.
