Midwest Snow Storm Impacting Flights At MSP

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The winter storm "Linus" is dumping snow across the Midwest, including at Chicago's O'Hare airport, which in turn is affecting flights out of Minneapolis.

"The majority of cancellations are destined for Chicago," said Amanda Greene Guentzel, the spokesperson at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

She said there are about 20 cancellations and about 26 delays.

She encourages people to call ahead to see if their flight has been delayed.

When there's a major weather event in the country, she said it has a real impact on every other city.

"The air system is all inter-connected, so when there's a major event somewhere in the country, it ends up having a domino effect," she said.

Minnesota, for the most part, missed the brunt of the storm.
