Metro Transit Offers Free Rides For St. Patrick's Day

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It's St. Patrick's Day! And people in the Twin Cities are preparing to celebrate.

Metro Transit wants people to celebrate safely. So, they are teaming up with Miller Lite to offer free rides.

From 6 p.m. Thursday to 3 a.m. Friday, all bus, light rail routes and Northstar Commuter Train are free to ride.

If you're unsure of where to celebrate, head to St. Paul.

The 50th annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in St. Paul starts at noon. The parade begins at 5th Street and Wacouta Street and ends after wrapping around Rice Park.

Over in Minneapolis, the parade is Thursday evening.

It's on Marquette Avenue this year because of construction on Nicollet Mall. It starts at 7:30 p.m. right at 11th Street and goes up to 5th Street.
