Metro Transit: Plan Ahead For Major Events Thursday

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Thursday is going to be a busy day full of events around the Twin Cities metro, so you'll want to make your travel plans early and bring plenty of patience along.

There are five events between Minneapolis and St. Paul that are expected to bring plenty of congestion to the Twin Cities metro. The Minnesota State Fair will be ongoing with shuttles at various locations throughout the metro.

The Minnesota Vikings have their final preseason game at U.S. Bank Stadium Thursday night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. against the L.A. Rams. The Twins host the Chicago White Sox at 7:10 p.m. at Target Field.

The University of Minnesota football team also hosts Oregon State at 8 p.m. at TCF Bank Stadium to open its 2016 season. The St. Paul Saints also have a home game at CHS Field, with first pitch slated for 7:05 p.m.

People attending any of these events are encouraged to use Metro Transit or light rail lines as transportation. If you have to drive, leave early and plan accordingly.
