Metro Transit Driver Sentenced For Soliciting Pregnant Teen On Bus

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Hennepin County Attorney's Office says a Minneapolis bus driver pleaded guilty Friday to one count of soliciting a teenage girl for sex.

Metro Transit bus driver Mahmud Dabshir Aden, 33, is accused of exposing himself to a pregnant 16-year-old girl and asking her to perform a sex act on him.

The criminal complaint says the victim was riding on his number 7 route on the evening of Oct. 5, when Aden ignored her request to drop her off at her stop.

Aden continued driving to the end of his route, where stopped and told the victim he would pay her $100 and give her a cellphone in exchange for a sex act.

The complaint says the victim refused Aden repeatedly before he drove her back to her stop.

Metro Transit police used surveillance video from the bus to confirm the victim's story.

Aden will not be sentenced until April 8, when he is expected to get a stayed sentence for one year and one day. He will also get five years' probation and will avoid prison unless he violates his terms.

He will also serve 90 days in Hennepin County's Adult Corrections Facility.
