Metro Transit: Bus Rolls Over Man In Uptown

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A man trying to catch a bus was run over by its back wheels in Uptown Tuesday night and taken to an area hospital.

Metro Transit said that a southbound route 17 bus was leaving the Uptown Transit Center just before 8 p.m. when the man, who was running for the bus, was struck by the rear wheels.

When emergency crews responded to the scene, they found the man under the back of the bus.

The man – who was not named – was conscious and breathing when crews brought him to the Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment.

The bus has been removed from the area, Metro Transit said, and the driver will undergo drug and alcohol testing, as is standard procedure.
