Man Shot On Bus In New Hope; Investigation Underway

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Officials in the north metro say a man is recovering after being shot on a bus.

The New Hope Police Department says officers responded to the shooting shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday to a bus stopped near the intersection of 42nd Avenue North and Gettysburg Avenue.

Inside the bus was a man suffering a gunshot wound to his leg. His injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

Police searched the area around the bus, but made no arrests. The shooting remains under investigation.

The Metropolitan Council said the bus, which is operated by First Transit, is part of its regional fleet.
