Mendota Heights School Closes Due To Flu Outbreak

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Mendota Heights school will close two days before its winter break due to an outbreak of the flu.

Convent of the Visitation School said its Lower School has closed for Thursday and Friday due to an outbreak of "influenza-like illnesses."

School officials said while they do not know the exact number of students who have been sick, it is enough to decide to close for everyone's health and safety.

In addition to the school there is a convent and nursery in the building.

The school for grades 6 through 12 will still be in session Thursday and Friday.

Holiday break will begin on Dec. 22 for everyone in the building.
