Menahga Man Indicted In Choking Death Of Teen

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Menahga man was indicted Friday in the strangulation death of a 19-year-old woman in February, according to the Hubbard County Attorney's Office.

Harley David Leritz, 21, was indicted on first- and second-degree murder charges by a grand jury in the death of Kiela Knowles.

According to the criminal complaint, Leritz is accused of choking Knowles to death in her Park Rapids apartment on Feb. 24.

He could face 40 years in prison. Leritz's bail has been set at $1.5 million.

His next court appearance is set for the morning of July 7.
