Megabus Headed To Mpls. Goes Up In Flames; None Hurt

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Megabus headed to Minneapolis from Chicago on Sunday started on fire, leaving about 40 passengers stranded on the side of the road.

According to CBS Chicago, the fire started around noon and fully engulfed the bus.

All passengers were able to get off the bus safely, but several passengers reportedly lost their luggage.

Lucas Peterson, who writes "The Frugal Traveler" column for the New York Times, was on the bus and tweeted images of the scene.

He said another Megabus came to pick the stranded passengers up.

The bus was headed for Milwaukee when it caught fire, and would've continued to Minneapolis after that.
