Meet The Champlin Mom Who Has Fostered 500 Kids

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- On a day that celebrates moms, we talked to a woman who has played that role to 550 children. Stella Gamble, of Champlin, and her husband James have fostered those children through Hennepin County.

After her birth kids got older, Gamble decided to start fostering and years later, she's still doing it. She takes kids in for days at a time to weeks at a time.

She said it's all about love.

"They don't need video games," she said, "they need to be nurtured and cared for just like you would do your own."

Gamble said her ultimate goal is to reunite families.

Hennepin County is using Gamble's story to try and inspire others to foster, saying the need is great right now.
