Meet Minnesota's 'Survivor' Castaway

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Survivor returns for its 33rd season next month, and one of the castaways is from Minnesota.

The new season is filmed in Fiji, and the theme is Millennials vs. Gen X. The castaways will be separated by generation and forced to compete against each other to win the one million dollar prize.

One of the Gen Xers is 45-year-old Sunday Burquest, a youth pastor from Otsego.

"Definitely some of the players are my kids age, I can tell," she said. "I've worked with young people, taken them on trips before where they've had a hard time being away from home."

The new season kicks off with a 90-minute premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 21 on WCCO.
