Meeker Co. Sheriff: Alcohol A Suspected Factor In Serious ATV Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Meeker County Sheriff's Office says alcohol is a suspected factor in a serious ATV crash in Dassel Township.

The sheriff's office received a report Wednesday of the ATV accident with injuries on 745th Avenue, south of Highway 12.

An investigation revealed the ATV was traveling northbound on 745th Avenue when the operator, 48-year-old Daniel Miller of rural Dassel, lost control and flipped the ATV over.

The sheriff's office says Miller wasn't wearing a helmet. He was taken to the Meeker Memorial Hospital via ambulance before being airlifted to the Hennepin County Medical Center with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
