St. Paul Memorial Pays Tribute To Medal Of Honor Recipients

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A new memorial in St. Paul will pay tribute to the 72 Minnesotans who have received the Medal of Honor.

A groundbreaking was held Monday on the State Capitol grounds where the memorial will sit.

The ceremony included music by the 34th Infantry Division Concert Band, cannon firing and a flyover with vintage planes.

The Medal of Honor Convention is also being held in Minnesota for the first time. It runs through Saturday.
