Mauer Leading Off Tuesday Against Orioles

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minnesota Twins first baseman Joe Mauer will experience a career first Tuesday night against the Baltimore Orioles at Target Field.

Mauer, who has one of the top batting averages and on-base percentages for the Twins, will bat lead-off. He was set to be the lead-off hitter Monday night, but the game was postponed due to rain.

Mauer is hitting .299 with a .420 on-base percentage. The Twins are looking for anything to get momentum going as they're currently on a five-game losing streak amid an 8-23 start. He's been batting second most of the season.

Eduardo Nunez, the other hitter on a hot streak at .372 in 23 games, is hitting second, followed by Brian Dozier.
