Injured Hockey Player To Return To Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Minnesota hockey player who suffered a spinal cord injury is expected to return home in the next few weeks.

Twenty-year-old Matt Olson, a junior league defenseman with the Chicago Cougars, was hurt during a game last month.

He received a rare adult stem cell treatment at a hospital outside of Chicago, where he has been recovering since the injury.

His family said that he is doing well and will return to his Isanti home to continue his rehab.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help with his recovery.
