Mary Tyler Moore Statue May Not Return To Nicollet Mall

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – There's a chance the famous statue of Mary Tyler Moore won't be coming back to Nicollet Mall.

The bronze statue of the actress was taken down before all the renovations kicked off in downtown Minneapolis.

TV Land, which actually owns the statue, tells the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal that right now it's being stored in an undisclosed art storage facility.

They'd like for Mary to return to the Mall once construction ends in 2017, but, as the Business Journal points out, the Nicollet Mall project actually has different design and art elements already planned for that space.
