Mary Tyler Moore Statue Back On Display In Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The famous statue of Mary Tyler Moore is out of storage and back on display in Minneapolis.

The statue of the actress tossing her hat in the air as she did in the opening of her 1970s sitcom was removed from the Nicollet Mall a few months ago because of construction. The statue was moved to the city's new visitor's center and unveiled Monday.

The statue was a gift from the TV Land network to the city. Tyler Moore portrayed a newswoman at a Twin Cities TV station in the popular sitcom.

The art will be moved back to the mall when construction is done.
