Dayton Calls On National Guard To Help With Super Bowl Security

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- Governor Mark Dayton has authorized the Minnesota National Guard to help with security during Super Bowl LII.
More than one million visitors are expected in Minneapolis for the game and its surrounding events. The guard members will work with local law enforcement, traffic control and security at key venues.
This is a standard request. The National Guard has helped with Super Bowl security since 2002. The Super Bowl Host Committee will pick up any costs to the state.
